Old Church
Around 1450 Francesco II Del Balzo, III Duke of Andria, IV Count of Montescaglioso and Lord of Pomarico, paternally accepted the prayers of the Pomaricans who implored the construction of a new and larger church than Santa Margherita and had the first church built Mother, dedicated to the Archangel Michael.
The church consisted of a single nave, supported by a large central arch, with two doors on the northern elevation: one small and one large, called “Venna”, and another door on the eastern side called “Porta delle donne”.
